Your Only as Great as Your Last Achievement

The statement that I chose for the title is something that I've heard off, and on throughout the Hollywood industry. Only the word achievement being replaced with movie, book, or any other project that helped advance your career. Why do people say this? Because they're either expecting you to come with something new or you haven't done anything significant since the last achievement you had. Many times we get so fascinated with what we've just done that we forget what's next. This is not to say that you shouldn't enjoy the moment of your achievement, but it's to say that you should always make it some type of priority to you to plan ahead.

Planning is something that I rarely see in my generation.

When there is planning involved, it's either missing some steps or isn't fully thought through. It's understandable only because we're all still growing. We all seem to know what we want from life--money, fame, the luxury clothing items or accessories, but how do you plan to get there?  If your plan involves any type of "get-rich-quick scheme" or some type of idea with no real layout of all the specific details, you may be in for a rude awakening.

You want to plan in a way to where when you do things that give you recognition, or any other type of advancement, it's as easy as a checklist. The teenager perspective is so "in-the-moment" to where we don't think enough ahead in time to be able to prevent mishaps that didn't necessarily have to happen. You can't prevent everything from happening, but you can take the steps to be knowledgeable of the the things that could happen so you can know what to do in said circumstance.

Stop letting people define you based of what you did previously, especially if your continuously growing. Always keep people on their toes with you; and definitely don't let them get used to what you do. One of the things that keeps people relevant is surprising people. That's what attracts more people in to what you do. This applies to any career field you could think of being in because when you grow past what you've previously done or surprise people with something you've just done, it makes them interested to see what's next.

You may even need to expand your skills past what you thought you could do.

Live in the moment with your achievements, but always be anticipating your next move. You want the best out of life, right? So then explore all your options. I don't have it all figured out myself, but what works the best (in my own opinion) is research. Not only research, but taking out the time to study the people who are in the positions you want to be in. Take notes, try to get any questions you have answered, and soak up the information you gain like a sponge. Your plan should always have a backup plan, and your backup plan should have it's own backup plan.

Your first mind may not always be what gets you to where you want to be.

Always a pleasure being able to share with you, thank you.

Just the Beginning

Welcome to "Curlyblanco"

I decided to make a blog because I thought I'd be the best way for me to grow in my journalistic skills as well as, create a brand for myself even at the age I'm at. I always wanted a blog after reading other people's, and after getting advice from others on what to do- I finally made the decision to. I hope that as we are all on this journey of self-growth & discovery that I can be a pillar for you while on that journey.

My blog will showcase the following:

Lifestyle: I plan to post about life's problems. Not just for females, but teenagers in general. There's things that need to be said, and I plan on doing just that. Also, I plan on sharing my learning experiences that have helped push my growth.

Advice: I personally love giving advice so if you have any problems that you think I could help with, feel free to email me your questions or reach out to me on social media.

Opinion: My personal opinion will be given on topics that are popular in the media dealing with topics such as race, women's issues, maybe even a little celebrity drama here, and there. Whatever I find to be interesting enough to give my perspective on. Reviews on products, books, and music will be included as well.

Inspiration: A weekly quote will be posted to help inspire you as you go about your week working, attending school, or even just running errands.

As my blog grows, I hope to incorporate more, and more topics to create a discussion among people of all ages, races, and walks of life.

Posting schedule will be available soon!

Always a pleasure being able to share with you, thank you.
